Westchester Brain Tumor Program

A Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley

Researchers are continually discovering better ways to treat brain tumors. Now these promising brain tumor treatments, along with the best of care, are available to patients in Westchester County and the Hudson Valley, New York thanks to the Brain Tumor Program.

The Westchester Brain Tumor Program is a professional collaboration between the Westchester Neuroscience Research Foundation and the Cancer Center at Northern Westchester Hospital. It allows a team of physicians to treat your brain tumor based on its unique pathology, so you receive the best care possible.

The Westchester Brain Tumor Program is deeply engaged in three types of research:

1. Clinical trials (late-stage trials of carefully researched and tested methods of care)

2. Translational research  (applying research to actual treatment)

3. Basic science research (examining brain tumor pathologies)

The Westchester Brain Tumor Program is funded in part by the Westchester Neuroscience Research Foundation.  The Foundation was created in 2009 by Dr. John M. Abrahams to raise awareness and educate the population about malignant brain tumors and raise funds to support clinical and basic science research.

The Foundation manages some of the protocols in the Westchester Brain Tumor Program and funds selected basic science projects.

Clinical trials

We are currently recruiting patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) tumors for a vaccine trial sponsored by the University of California, San Francisco and Agenus, Inc.
