Gelsomina RinaldiGelsomina Rinaldi, DPT has been an avid fitness enthusiast for over 20 years. As an expert in Manual Techniques and Therapeutic Exercise, she is the Senior Supervisor of Physical Therapy at SPINE OPTIONS. She has been highly trained to focus on Spinal Dysfunction, Rehabilitation and Pain Management using Physical Therapy treatments and modalities. Her goals are to treat acute back pain patients hoping to avoid surgery, chronic pain patients looking to reduce pain and improve function and patients that had recent surgery that are in need of Rehabilitation.

She has an extensive exercise and nutrition background. She completed her undergraduate studies in Nutrition, then went on to pursue her Doctorate Degree at Mercy College in Physical Therapy in 2008 following a long work history employed as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Consultant. Her completed clinical rotations at Mercy College have included affiliations at Montefiore Children’s Hospital in the Bronx, Beth Abraham Adult Day Care in White Plains, Rye Physical Therapy in White Plains, and ProActive Physical and Hand Therapy in the Bronx. Gelsomina worked as a Clinical specialist at several outpatient practices in Westchester and the Bronx over the last several years and became a Clinical Director. Her skills brought her to the team at Spine Options, and specializing solely in the spine although other body parts are treated when necessary.

Gelsomina is a Certified Kinesiotaping Practitioner, and utilizes kinesiotape as an adjunct to treat her patients. She is also trained in the Graston Technique, and utilizes her special tools to treat adhesions and scar tissue. Gelsomina believes that ‘a body in motion stays in motion’. She utilizes her exercise background to return her patient’s back to function. Gelsomina is also a Clinical Instructor and takes on students from various Physical Therapy programs, including Columbia University. Gelsomina is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the APTA Orthopedic Section. She has studied to complete the Orthopedic Manual Therapy Certification from Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars, and continues studying for the Orthopedic Certified Specialist Certification.
